I have a problem that's stumped me. Word randomly crashes on startup.
When I try to restart it says there's been a serious error with an
add-in and when I disable it Word starts ok. If I delete the data.reg
key I can enable the addin and Word will work for a while. I've
recreated the suspect addins but the problem still occurs.
Today I tried recreating the normal template which references the
addins which seem to cause the error. I've found that if I open Word
by doubleclicking the normal.dot file it opens without problem. If I
open Word using winword.exe it crashes even though both ways use the
same normal.dot. I figure that doubleclicking the normal template
opens the file then loads the addins whereas running winword.exe does
it the other way around. This is a guess though and even if it's right
I have no idea how to fix it.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Thanks
Tammy
