Word crashes when saving a document created with a template

I downloaded the "Asian Pacific American Heritage Festival" from
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/TC101316351033.aspx?pid=CT101432911033.
Then I modified it for my event. When I try to save the modified file, both
in .docx and then in Word 97 - 2003, Word crashes and doesn't save the
document. When Word comes back again a recovered document is present, but I
cannot save it without Word crashing again. I've tried restarting Windows,
but to no avail.

I am using Office Professional 2007 on a recent 64-bit HP system running
Vista. Do you have a solution for this?

Have you tried to open the Template using Open and Repair (it's accessed by
clicking the little arrow attached to the OPEN button in the File | Open
dialog.
