Word crashes when saving document after pasting from PDF

AT

This started when I was pasting from OmniGraffle into a word document.
At first I thought its a problem in the document itself, but it did
the same with an empty document still! I then tried to export from
OmniGraffle into PDF, copy from the PDF, paste into word, then save.
Same problem. This doesn't happen when pasting JPGs, so I'm assuming
its a problem with vector data?

This never happened before the last update since the same document I'm
working on has numerous images that were pasted from Omnigraffle.

Steps to reproduce (at least on my machine):
- Copy from Omnigraffle
- Paste into an empty word document.
- Save word document.
- Crash.

Am I alone here? :)

I can confirm I have the same issue but have found it only occurs if you save
in .doc format. If you save oin .docx format then the crash does not occur!
Maybe MS are trying to get us to switch to the new standard?

Lets hope they issue a patch soon.

PDF files makes Word 2008 crash.

There are several posts on the web on this issue!

I myself have tried to drag-drop the pdf files or use the INSERT command - but both makes Word 2008 crash.

That's really a shame, since the PDF files seems to produce some of the best images when moving pictures from one application to another.

Hope there will be a fix soon.

Yes. It is a known bug, and has been listed for fixing.

Yes, we hope there will be a fix soon -- make sure you stay up to date with
your Apple, Adobe, and Microsoft fixes. We cannot tell which company the
fix for this will come from.

Cheers
