This could be caused by a problem in your Normal.dot since macros are
temporarily created in Normal.dot when you open a document outside the
application.

Locate Normal.dot and rename it to OldNormal.dot. Word will create a
new on upon starting.

If that doesn't resolve the error then let us know and we'll go from
there. :)

Hi Beth,

I tried renaming the normal.dot, but it did not work

I have also tried the following
Emptied the C :\Documents and Settings\ xxxx \Application
Data\Microsoft\Word\Startup folder

Uninstalled and reinstalled Office 2003

Created a new windows user account

Any other suggestions..

Thanks Girks

If it isn't your Normal.dot then my next suggestion is to recreate the
file associations. Go to Start/Run and run:

winword /r

Note the space before the forward slash.

Thanks Beth,

The problem was with the network printer we are using Minolta Magic Colour
2350. I removed it now it is not crashing. I am not sure why it is
happening only on one computer. I ve tried removing the printer and adding
it back.. no luck.

Any suggestions.....

Thanks Girks

That's odd. Typically if a printer is causing the problem there is
some hint in the error details.

How are you adding it back? Are you using the Add/Printer wizard?
