Word crashes when trying to post a comment ina document (full of comments)

Dear friends

First:
I am working wiht Office 2008 (and WOrd 2008) and have updated everything I can (12.1.5)

I have looked at your suggestion to fix this problem and it did not work for me. I have posted a new thread on account that I don't seem to find the answer anywhere. You wrote:

The "story" of the file is that it has been going back and forth to another computer (PC with an older word?) and I tried to save it as a Maggie - but if I do all the comments are deleted.

I guess you can understand the frustration that one feels...

I am stuck with this problem. Even the Maggie is crashing (and as I wrote before - all the comments disappeared anyway.. so). Maybe someone can help me.... This is what the error message was (of which I - of course - don't understand anything of):

Hi Bino -

A properly done maggie should not cause any comments to be lost. It's just a
matter of copying all but the last paragraph marker (¶) & pasting to a new
blank document. unfortunately the error message doesn't explain much to any
of us :) But based on what you describe I have a feeling that you are
dealing with a corrupt document. You don't say "how" it's been going back &
forth so I can't suggest anything other than standard suggestions for
un-corrupting a document. Those are available at this link along with some of
the possible causes:

Since you're using Comments I suspect you may also be using Track Changes,
which, if they've been allowed to perpetually accumulate may very well be the
source of the corruption.

If this has been going back & forth as an attachment teh other party should
still have a the last version forwarded to you. Have them send it again & use
the suggestions on that page on that version rather than the one tht's
already lost the comments.
