Word crashes when trying to save a form letter

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel
Email Client: pop

I am using Entourage Word to generate a form letter that I can merge with selected addresses from my Entourage addressbook. I am able to generate the emails using the form letter but when I try to save the form letter Word crashes and I lose the form letter.

I could attach the crash log but it covers 14 pages, so probably best that I email that separately if it is useful.

OOOPS sorry realize that I have posted this issue in the wrong place, but can't find an option to delete the post.
