My documents are entirely made up of numbered lists that are indented up to
several levels, using the library list feature - 1, 1.1., 1.1.1. etc.; these
lists are used both in the main body of the document and the endnotes. When
editing the file to insert corrections within existing numbered paragraphs,
Word is constantly crashing when I try to type any text. This is occurring in
separate documents that were created independently of each other. Upon
crashing, Word automatically saves and reopens the file, which shows a string
of gibberish at the location of the inserted text that caused the crash -
always a string of letter "y" with two dots above them.
I have no add-ins installed with Word.
