Word crashes when you try to shut down a document

When I open a document for viewing and then try to close it, it crashes winword.

Here are the error I get from the event viewer.

Faulting application winword.exe, version 9.0.0.6926, faulting module winword.exe, version 9.0.0.6926, fault address 0x000cbb94.

Fault bucket 34047406.

I am running Windows XP with SP1. Word 2000 with SP3.

Hi Collin,

My first suggestion/question is if Word came installed as part of Works Suite. If so then the soft Works Suite Add-in exhibits the same behavior you describe.

Go to your Control Panel and in Add/Remove Programs uninstall the "Microsoft Works Suite Add-in for Word".
