Word Crashes without an Error Message when I Resore/Maximize It

Hello,
As I work, MS Word 2003's window gets often gets minimized or pushed into
the background. To get it back into view, I simply click on the Word program
icon located on my Taskbar (this operation is akin to Restoring the window, I
think).

"Sometimes," Word will flash up then suddenly and completely crash without
asking to save or displaying an error message. In short, I want to know why
this happens, suggestions to fix, or suggestions to get more information to
further troubleshoot. Because I get no error message, I have had no luck
searching the Internet for an answer (you try googling "Word crashes no
error"). My friend suggested I look at the event view, but I don't know what
to look for. Does someone here? How about other suggestions?

By "sometimes," I mean 1 in 25 or so. The other 24 times the window appears
without event. However, the termination seems random, and I have not been
able to link it to any other task I may be performing. I have uninstalled and
reinstalled Word, and I have ran Word will all the updates and ran it with no
updates, all with no success. If I install Word XP, Word XP works perfectly.

I don't want to reformat to solve this problem. Any help short of this would
be greatly appreciated.

Luke
