Word Crashes -- wrong fonts?

With certain older documents, Word is crashing everytime I try to open one of
them The only commonality I can see is that they use unusual fonts.

This was not a problem before the last Service Pack (Sept 05)

Ideas?

All I can offer is a workaround: Have someone on another computer open the
documents for you and either change the font or (perhaps) save as RTF or (if
you only need to read these documents) save them as PDFs. I haven't heard
of this problem before and I can only guess that there's some font conflict
with SP 2, though I haven't seen any similar reports.
