Version: v.X
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: intel

When I load Word app from the icon it crashes but if I try to open it by clicking on a Word file I have no problems.
I've reinstalled and done everything imaginable.
Anyone assist me please?

Hi Grahame -

I'm imagining Disk Utility - Repair Disk Permissions and/or creating a new
icon in the Dock (are you referring to the Word icon itself or the Alias in
the Dock?)... And don't try to use Word with Leopard's Spaces feature.

Keep in mind that reinstalling Office rarely fixes anything & even then only
if you run the Remove Office utility first. You will also have to re-apply
the the Office X updates as what you've reinstalled is 10.0 - and there's
also some question as to how well Office X will run in Leopard (10.5). That
version of Office was actually designed pre-OS X (10.0) which is now in its
5th incarnation, and Office X has not been (and will not be) updated beyond
Panther (10.3) and early Tiger (10.4).

I meant usually use the actual MS Word app icon
But as always Word keeps crashing.
The version I use is Microsoft Word 10.1.4
