Word dictionary - transferrable?

I have Microsoft Word 2002 on my old computer and have used it for years for
medical transcription, so my dictionary has been vastly expanded with medical
terms and medications. I am getting a new computer and do not want to start
all over again with adding those thousands of words to the dictionary.

Is it possible to transfer the Word dictionary from one computer to another?
And on a side note, where IS the Word dictionary? Can it be opened, viewed,
edited, etc.?

The name of the default supplementary dictionary is Custom, and it's a text
file.

C:\Documents and Settings\$UserName$\Application Data\Microsoft\Proof

On a network the path might resemble the one above, but you can do a search
and look for CUSTOM.DIC on your hard drive. You can copy the older version
of CUSTOM.DIC to your new PC.

Thanks for the quick reply!! So to copy the Custom.dic file off my old
computer to the new one, would I need to delete the new computer's Custom.dic
file and move the old one over on a disc?
