Word doc as email attachment--where would it get saved?

Folk:

I was working on an important Word doc for 4 hours the other day, and when I
went to open it up today, I couldn't find it anywhere. Almost threw up. So
I realized that the original of that doc--even though I had saved my work
many times--was an email attachment that I never saved to any location other
than the email it rode in on. So now I know something new. HOWEVER, is
there any chance that that document survives in some occult location? And,
no, I don't mean the basement of the Vatican, or Solomon's stables...

You don't say what kind of email software you use, but most email methods
have a "Sent" folder.

Other than that, you can ask the addressee to send you back a copy, if that
isn't too embarrassing.

The sent box suggestion is where I'd look first. You should be able to
find the e-mail. Otherwise, use the computer search engine to look in
every file on your machine for a phrase that's unique to your file.
There's a possibility that you unknowingly saved it as another name.
File don't just disappear once they are saved.

Good luck,

Bernard
