word Doc Attachments in Outlook

When a word document is sent as an attachment, and the recipent opens up the
word document it opens up like in book format... with 2 pages on the screen,
you can click close and it will be one page. If you sve the document to your
hard drive and open it up it opens up normally.. it does not open up in book
format.
is there a setting in Outlook that
1)the sender can setup so that it will not open up in book format on the
recipent end
2) or does the recipent need to do something on their end so that the word
documents do not open up that way
3) or there is nothing that can be done (Hopefully this is not the case)

Thanks,

You are describing the default behaviour of Outlook 2007. When right clicking
on the attachment it opens in teh PREVIEW mode-- two pages side by side.
Double clicking om teh attachment bypasses teh preview mode and opens the
file in normal edit mode.

I have not found a sequence to turn the preview mode OFF, but maybe someone
else has and will pass that along to both of us.

Thank you JR for your response, however when i either right click the
document or double click the document in the email message it comes up in
preview mode. :(

This is controlled by a setting on the recipients side. In word 2007, look
on the office icon, word options, popular group - its 4th on the list of
options.

it is in word's options.
