I've been emailing myself MS Word docs of case research from Westlaw's
website. When I try to click on the links in these Westlaw generated Word
docs, however, instead of going straight to the appropriate (citation) link
on the Westlaw website (as happens without a hitch with the very same Word
docs on a Windows computer) I get an entirely erroneous error message from
the Westlaw site - even though I'm already logged in - saying my browser
lacks cookies and java scripting (same problem whether I designate Safari,
Explorer, Mozilla or Netscape as my default browser, btw).
I'm running Panther (OSX10.3.4) with MS Word: Mac (as part of Office:Mac and
I'm right up to the latest updates) on a 1gb titanium powerbook with 1 gb of
RAM.
Though I inquired with Westlaw ten days ago, and though they appear to be
trying, they've yet to come up with any answer or solution - we've tried
inserting special proxy settings, turning off personal firewall, etc, etc.,
all to no avail.
Any suggestions, input or experience with this issue will be very much
appreciated as my otherwise trusty pbook will otherwise be rendered very
limited indeed for performing legal research! Thanks, and
All the best, TOM
