Word Doc is no longer attached

I received an email that is supposed to have a word doc attached. Although other users received this email with an attachment, when I receive it the doc is no longer attached - its contents show up in in the body of the email with a lot of gibberish beneath what has been inserted (by xp?) which is:
Content-Type: application/msword; name="Telelcoaching 1-4 Group 32 Brampton.doc
Content-Transfer-Encoding: base6

What can I do so that I can receive the document like everyone else

Have the sender use plain text or html format, not Rich Text to test?
