Word docs fail to print last several lines of first page

My printer (HP L7780) works fine with other applications (ie. Explorer,
pdfs). When I try to print word documents, 75% of the time the first page
only partially prints. It stops printing about 1.5" from the bottom of my
text - wherever that might be. Frequently, the page is cut off in the middle
of a line with only the top half of the letters having been printed. If
there is a footer on the page, it will not be printed either. The most
frustrating thing, is that occasionally it works correctly. The same doc
will fail to print properly as described above, and then with no changes but
for printing it again, it will be ok. The documents look perfect in print
preview, but then print with the bottom of the page missing. I would
appreciate any help regarding this extremely frustrating issue.

The printer driver is very important to Word. It uses the parameters it
queries from the driver to layout pages. If the printer driver is partially
corrupt or incorrectly coded, it will often cause problems with Word before
other apps.

First check with HP that you have the latest driver for your printer: then
delete and reinstall the driver. Test printing again.

If it still recurs, is it on all documents or just some particular
documents? These sort of problems can be caused by setting the line spacing
to an exact size rather than using the 'at least' or single/double spacing
settings.

If you need further help, please let us know your versions of OS and Word.
