Word document as "read only"

I have clicked on my documents under properties and there
are no attributes set. I can save the document to my hard
drive, however, I still cannot save to cd. It comes up
Cannot Save E \The folder is marked "Read Only"

I appreciate your help.

Is your CD drive capable of writing CDs or only reading them? Do you have a
writable CD in the drive? Even if both answers are yes, don't ever save a
Word doc directly to a CD. Save it to the HD first, then copy to the CD.
