Word document locked

I'm having an anoying problem with office 2007.

I have two application which make use of office. When a document is opend by
the application I get a message "<FileName> is locked for editing by 'another
user'". On the server I can see that the document is opend twice. Once read
only mode and once in read/write mode. When I open the document bij simply
clicking on it there is no problem. So it's not an matter of rights. Has
anyone seen this and more important, a fix.

I'm working with office 2007 SP1, Windows server 2003 R2 SP2 (all patches
applied) an Citrix Presentation server 4.5.
