WORD document on Network drive

I have a network share mapped to letter G: and I have WORD 2003 documents
saved thier. What I need to be able to do, is know who in my group has the
document open so I can notify them I want to make an update.

I think this is possible? But how do I do it?

When you try to open it, you may get a message box saying who has it open.
If not, look for the ~$filename.doc file and open it. That should contain
the name of the current "owner."
