Word document (template) spell check defaults to french

Word 2002.

user is using a template in word xp. when she spell checks the document it
checks using a french dictionary. Word is set to English dictionary by
default. other word documents are normal. I also had user send me the
document and is doing the same thing on my machine. We tried cutting and
pasting the information to another docoment but stil doing the same thing. Is
there somewhere in the actual document we can change the default language for
spell check?

Open the document and use Ctrl+A to SelectAll. Then go to Tools, Language,
Set Language and set it to English (whatever) that you need. Make sure that
nothing in the document is Protected though.
