Word Document View

Normally when I set up an document in word and I adjust the margins, I am
able to see the page layout as it will be printed. Now when I set up a Word
document, and I set up the top and bottom margins, no matter what I set them
to, it appears on the screen with no top and bottom margins. It just
'shrinks the page'. (If the paper size is 8x10 and I change the top and
bottom margins to 1.5 inches, for a total of 3 inches, the paper appears to
be 8x7, the 'margin space' disappears.) When I adjust the left and right
margins, the margins show in relation to the document, that is, the document
still appears to be 8 inches wide, but a 1 inch margin shows on the left and
right of the document. did I somehow damage my normal.dot? If so, how do I
get it back? How can I fix this?

Thanks

You didn't mention your View settings, so I'm not sure what you've tried and
haven't tried. However, some things to check... what View do you typically
use? Choose View (menu) and see what the setting is? Is it possible that you
typically use View - Print Layout, and have set it to View - Normal or
View - Web Layout?

I should add that this only happend in one of the users IDs in XP, the
outher user's documents show the document format properly.

And it's office XP with SP3....

Click on Tools | Options | View | check the "White space between pages"
box | OK.
