Word document with JPEG background creates massive print spool

We have a word document with a JPEG background that is
only ~500KB, but when printing to certain printers creates
a 100MB spool file.

Other PC/Printer combinations creates a 1MB file that
prints fine.

We can't find why this JPEG background is causing this
problem on output.
