Well, you can link to the table and/or query in Access. Perhaps explaining
a wee bit more of what you are trying to accomplish and the end result would
net you a more comprehensive reply...

I'm trying to link a word doc on the computer to a report in my access
database. When I update the word doc it will auto update the report when some
opens that report in my access database.

You cannot link a Word document to an Access report. You can link a Word
Document to an Access reports data source. You may also have to *refresh*
that link depending on how and where the data is updated.
