Word documents fail to open

My system runs on Windows Vista Business. I have installed SP1 as
recommended. I use Microsoft Office 2007. I have installed SP1 for this
also.

When a try to open a word document (regardless of version), either from a
directory or from Outlook 2007, I get an error message 'Windows cannot find
the file <xxx> specified. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then
try again.'

This problem happens intermittently and not always.

Please suggest a solution, if available.

Do you run Norton Anti Virus? If so Open NAV and under options deselect the
Office Plugin.

I have McAfee and not Norton Anti Virus loaded in my system.
