Word documents no longer will print?

My printer will not print a Word document, it will print
Excel or photos or anything else. It opens, then kicks up the error message
that winword has created an error and needs to be re-started...I un-installed
and had our IT guy re-install Office 2000. Still no change. Does it need to
be re-installed again and it was just bad luck, or is there a virus... any
clues???

I think that my printer is okay, I spent quite some time last night with the
HP folks.I actually re-loaded from a new disk, not my old one. Exactly what
do you mean by a corruption problem?
Thanks in advance...

The link I posted explains the various types of corruption that can affect
Word's performance. Rather than reinvent the wheel, I'll just briefly say
that this includes registry entries corruption, normal.dot corruption, and
corruption of other templates. Basically, sometimes when Word crashes (for
whatever reason, but usually initially due to a programming error), registry
entries or template files (document files, as well) don't get properly
updated. So, the next time Word look for information it expects to find, it
doesn't find it. This then generates another crash. Sometimes the crash
happens when Word opens, other times it doesn't crash until some other
action occurs.

The troubleshooting document can guide you through steps to determine where
the problem is, and fix it.

Good luck.
