Word documents problem

Gagarin

Suddenly a Word document I had written became dotted all over with strange
marks looking like vertical half cm pilars with a thick upper part, a bit
like musical notes. This happened when I was making some corrections to the
layout and tried to find a way by testing Ctrl, Alt Gr, Alt, etc... randomly.
Now all my word documents look like this and even when starting to write a
new document these marks appear always when pushing the enter for line
change. How can I get rid of this problem and convert my Word documents back
to the original look?

You have non-printing characters turned on. Use one of the following
methods to toggle them on or off:
1. Press Ctrl+Shift+*
2. In Word 2003 or earlier, click on the ¶ button on the Formatting
toolbar, or click on Tools | Options | View tab | uncheck the boxes for
"All", "Spaces", and "Paragraph marks" | OK
3. In Word 2007, click on the ¶ button in the Paragraph group on the
Home tab, or click on Office Button | Word Options | Display | uncheck
the boxes for "Show all formatting marks", "Spaces", and "Paragraph
marks" | OK

See http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting/NonPrintChars.htm for more
information.
