WORD documents takes over my EXCEL Progam

Help please,

When I prompt Excel to open (program or file)it
automatically opens a WORD file and it reads
as "ABC.doc:file format is not valid"...

I checked the Knowledgebase and it indicated that I might
have multiple versions of Excel installed - I only have
2000 version.

Can anyone help, thanks.

Hi, Harold. Start Windows Explorer, click on File Types, scroll down
the list of file types to XLS, and check the application associated with
this file type... if the application is not Excel, change it to Excel.
