I have a Mac running Word 2008, and a PC running Word 2003. The PC has
never been able to open documents that I create, and no one has been
able to offer a solution.
However, in a recent update, Compatibility Check now states that the
problem is due to the fact that the document was created using a
Template (.dot), and that template cannot be found.
Cutting and pasting the completed document into a new Word file on the
Mac, and then opening that on the PC works fine. My guess is the
problem has nothing to do with Mac-PC.
So, what do you do about this? I would like to have "template like
functions", but avoid this problem. Is there a way to "untemplatize" a
document once it has been saved?
