WORD DOCUMENTS

Every time I go into WORD, a document automatically opens up which I can't
permanently delete. In addition, my "cut" facility has disappeared although I
can copy and paste. Anyone any idea what I've done ??!!

For your first problem - From the FAQ:

28. My blank document has text in it - an old letter, etc. See
http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/AppErrors/BlankDocNotBlank.htm.

When you say the "cut facility has disappeared" what do you mean? From your
Edit menu? That Ctrl-X doesn't cut? From right-clicking?
