word does not copy a text doc. when i paste it uses a prior doc.

i type a lot of work docs. i copy and paste a lot. sometimes when i try to
paste a doc i just copied it uses an old doc and not the one i just copied. I
copied it correctly without problems. a friend said there may be a problem
with the word clipboard but I dont know about the clipboard enough to solve
the problem.
