Word does not paste text plus graphics from websites

This is the second post for the same problem: Try and reproduce my
description of the problem before you give some trivial solutions like
"use word to open the web page" or try "pasting" before using paste
special" PLEASE!!!!.

This problem applies to WORD 2004 Only!! Word X works fine!

Symptom: Open Word. Open either Safari or Explorer. Go to a web
page that contains text and graphics. Select a portion that includes
text plus graphics. Choose Copy. Go back to Word and paste what you
copied.

You get a crappy result and no graphics!!

Then if you go to Paste Special you only have 3 options, none includes
the paqste HTML format!
Additionally the source changes to unknown in the Paste Special option.

Is this a bug? As I said before, it works well with the older Word X
and the Windows XP versions.

Comments anyone?

No, it's not a bug. It's "by design". The HTML rendering engine they're
using can't do this. It was one of those "best we can do in the time/money
available" compromises.

It's something they're working on. But the work-around you have been given
(open the web page in Word) is the only one that works that is available
now. Since that "works" there are more urgent fixes that will come ahead of
this one.
