word does not respond

whenever i try to paste somehting into microsoft word,
the timer appears and then microsoft word goes completly
blank and white and says(not responding) and i have to
close it and loose all my information. so i cnat paste
anything. please help. thank you.

What version of Word are you using? What patches are installed?

What are you trying to paste when Word hangs? Text from the document?
Web page content?
