Word doesn't open scanned file from Document Imaging

I have scanned a document to Document Imaging. After running OCR I try to
send the file to Word so that I can edit the text. It gets to where Word
opens (partially) but then no more. I never get to see the file in Word. Any
suggestions to help the problem is more than welcome.
