Word Doesn't Start Properly?

Hi,
I have a compaq laptop with Windows XP Pro, and Office 2002. Everything was
functioning normally until i setup the laptop to join works network domain.
After setting up and joining the domian, i logged into the laptop computer
using the user account configured in the servers active directory. This is
where my problem began.

Once I logged into the new account I am given an error message saying
something like word didnt shut down correctly do i want to recover my
documents, send error report, or dont send are my options. If I choose not to
recover my documents the message closes and nothing happens.

When i choose to recover i get an error saying that word could not start
properly, do i want to start in safe mode? If I choose No, word attempts to
launch but i am given the same message. If i click yes word starts in safe
mode. If I then shutdown word and try again the same thing happens.

MS Word works fine in the local account on the laptop but produces the above
error in the new domain account. Both accounts are using the same local
installation of Office.

So far ive tried re-installing office but the same thing happens.

What could the problem be?

Thanks
Mitchell

OK Ive found a number of posts on this, sorry about not searching hard enough
first. Sounds like a problem with the normal.dot template or corrupt registry
key.

But if either of these where the problem why would it work in one user
account and not the other?
