word editor won't reinstall into outlook. works in Word

word editor won't reinstall into outlook. it woked before and quit
unexplainedly. works in Word. i followed the "option > check Word editor" and
open an email, it cancels it out and says:
"Word is unavailalbe, not installed, or is not the same version as Outlook,"
which are not true. i have rebooted, reinstalled and the same thing keeps
happening. what is the solution? thanks.

It helps to know which version you are using? But assuming Office 2003, try
running Select and Repair from the HELP menu.

If that fails, rename email.dot to email.bad.
