Word Equation Editor

Hi,

I am using Microsoft Office 2000. In a word document when
I use the Equation Editor to type an equation, I can see
the equation while I am in the Equation Editor mode, but
when I get out, I see a rectangular box with nothing in
there. If I double click on the box, it takes me back to
the Equation Editor again and I can view the form of the
equation I typed, but not when I am in the text mode.
Please advise me on how I can solve this problem.

Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from
you.

The Equation is a 'drawing object', so you need to be in Print Layout View
(NOT normal view) and under Tools, Options, View tab you need to check the
Drawing box.

On the View tab of Tools | Options, make sure that "Picture placeholders" is
not checked.
