Word error message when opening

I get the error message," Word was unable to read the document. It may be
corrupt." The document was created in Word 2000 and the message comes up in
Word 2003. I have to use the Open and Repair tool just to see the body of the
calender. I have tried 3 other computers with 2003 installed and get the same
message. I can open the document on any other word 2000 computer. Is this a
compatability issue or am I missing something on my computers.

Thanks for any advice.

We've been told by some 'Softies that Word 2003 does more checking for
document corruption than earlier versions did. A document might have a
problem that Word 2000 will ignore, but that's enough to stop 2003
from opening it except with the repair tool.

Since the document contains a calendar, it probably consists of one
ore more tables, possibly with graphics. In Word 97 and 2000 that
combination was notorious for fostering corruption.

Try the suggestions at
http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/CorruptDoc.htm to see if that
fixes the document.
