Word-Error

Shortly after I open word I get an error box that states Microsoft Word has
encountered and problem and needs to close... I had Microsoft office 2000 and
I thought they error was caused because I went from windows ME to windows XP.
So I bought microsoft office professional edition 2003 today. But I continue
to get the same error with ir. Suggestions?
