Word error

Cannot read memory at 0x300b7742
is the error that I get when trying to open any word
document. This is followed by an application error
Word.exe which offers me the option to close and exit Word.
I run Windows 2000 professional, SP3 for the OS & MsOffice
2000 (9.0.6926 SP-3)
