word error

Please help me. I have Windows 2000 Prof. OS and am
running MS Office 2000. Everything worked fine on
Wednesday night. Thursday when I tried to used Word I get
the error message: WINWORD.exe has generated errors and
will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the
program. I did nothing different between Wednesday and
Thursday. I'm up to date on patches, etc. Excel seems to
work OK. It is just word. Help. I need to use word. I
uninstalled and reinstalled office with no change. Thanks,
