WORD - escaping out of email send

I'm trying to figure out how to stop sending an email if
I accidentally push the EMAIL icon ...ie I don't want
to send the email...just 'escape' out of it...but I can't
figure out how to do it!!!!

The only way I've been able to get out of it is to close
the file I'm working on...

If I understand you correctly and if you have Outlook
Express as your e-mail program; when you accidentally hit
the e-mail button the message doesn't go to the recipient
yet, it only goes into your Outlook Express Outbox and
waits there till you send it manually or your setup sends
it after a certain amount of time. Depending on the way
yours is set up, if you go there and stop it before it
goes, you're OK.

Have you tried pressing the E-mail button again to turn off the header?
