Hi, Candice-
Thanks so much for the advice! I really appreciate it. I'm sorry that I'm just thanking you but I've been out of town and haven't checked the discussion group since my entry. I tried your suggestion but row entries from the Word table that took up double row space (two lines of text but still in the same row cell) are now taking up two rows in Excel. The second line of text appears in a second row. How do I format the sheet to fix this?
Thanks again!

Try this:
1. Open the document containing the table.
2. Create blank Excel workbook and leave open.
3. Select entire table in Word.
4. Drag the table as though you were going to move it, but drag right down
to the Excel taskbar item. Keep holding down there until Excel takes focus.
5. Release the mouse when you are satisfied it is moving to the correct
spot.
You may need to check out the wrapping and border options once the table has
been moved into Excel!

I am trying to convert a Word table containing just text to Excel. When I
tried this before using Word 2000, the rows were thrown off and my attempts
to correct this didn't work. I am now using Word 2003 and Excel 2003. Do you
know how I can make the conversion while maintaining row integrity [one row
in Word table=one row in Excel sheet]? Thanks!
