Word & Excel hangs when trying to open a document.

initially had to wait 5-10mins before it works. just now found that if i
disable the network card, then it works fine. Its trying to access some site
on the internet.


Anu remedies please.

Are you sure it's trying to access something on the internet? Are you on a
network (other than internet), e.g., office lan, home network, etc.?

It might be that a network drive is slow to refresh. If you are on a network
and have mapped a network drive, you might try unmapping to see if this
solves the issue.
