Word/Excel sluggish after SP1 update

Is anyone else experiencing a lag in Word and Excel since updating
Office 2008 to SP1?
I get the spinning beach ball often and it's making it hard to use
either one of these apps.
Before SP1 both Word and Excel were very fast.
