Word/Excel will not open - IPF application errors

How do I clear the following error:

" WINWORD caused an invalid page fault in module
OLEAUT32.dll at 017F:653aac21 "

Suspect Macro virus incurred after opening Excel pricelist
from computer vendor with later Office version and Macros.
