Word - Excel

Hello,
Can somebody help me?
I would like to know how I can store csv data, created in Word 2000, in an
Excel2000 csv file.
I can store the data in a Word document and save it as an csv file. However,
I can't open that file in Excel. If I try I get an error message: the csv
file is not an Excel file and Excel will not open it.
I tried some programming with DDE, but that is more difficult than I
expected.
Thanks in advance for your help.

I have done this many times before without any problems.

Are you sure you are selecting the "Type of file" option in Excel? In the
Open Workbook dialog, choose "Text files" as a type of file, that handles
*.prn, *.txt and *.csv files.

If your file is "just" a csv file (ie. text, delimiters
and CR/LFs ... NOT a word document with a whole heap of
Word format stuff hidden in it) you can SAVE it as a .XLS
file (even though it's not) and Excel will open it
without complaint.

Try it in notebook. Save as "All files" and call it
Test.xls, then open it in excel.

Cheers,

smac
