Word 2003 on Windows 2000 Terminal Server with Citrix.
Every other time we start Word, we get the message "Word failed to start
correctly last time." in an option box to start Word in safe mode.
Starting in safe mode does not produce any errors or warnings about
disabling bad add-ins. If you start in normal mode everything seems to work
fine, including add-ins.
I re-installed Office to try and fix the problem, but it remained. I then
tried Detect and Repair from the help menu in Word, which completed
successfully but didn't fix the problem.
This was not an issue when we first installed Office 2003, but I'm not sure
what triggered it--possibly moving or deleting some uninstall files or using
Windows Washer.
Each Citrix user (even the administrator logged in at the console) gets the
same message. It's odd that it is only every other time Word is started.
Thanks,
-Rich
