Word File on XP and Vista

M

Microsoft

I have machines which run both Windows XP and Vista. All machines are using
Office 2007. Now I created a Word document on a Vista machine, but when I
open it on an XP computer, it looks so different. e.g. the file is one page
when created, but now it is two pages on the XP computer. In addition, the
size of the fonts changed dramatically as well.

Could anybody shed any lights on this problem?

Thanks very much!

Hi,

There are numerous possible reasons for this:
1. the font you've used on Vista isn't installed on the XP machine, so XP substitutes another font that approximates the missing
one;
2. the print driver on Vista isn't the same as the one on XP - even for the same printer. This is important, because Windows uses
information from the print driver to work how how to lay out the page and, even where the OS is the same, a change in printer or
print driver can change the way the document looks.
