Word file opening off the visible monitor

When I open Word, I see a flash toward the top of the
screen but the open file is not visible on the monitor.

It is open but I cannot view it. How do I correct this so
that the open file will stay confined to the monitor
screen?

This trick has worked in the past for something similar.
I'm assuming you are on OS X
Open word and the wayward file.
Use system preferences to change the monitor resolution to something
low and silly, like 800*600.
If your window hoves onto view, drag it to the middle of the 800*600
screen and set your monitor back to 1024*768 ar whatever it was before.
If the gods smile on you, the window remains in the middle of the
screen.

Solution found. One of our Information Technology personnel
logged into my PC remotely and with Word open, right
clicked on Word on the menu bar, choose Move and then use
arrow keys to drag the open file back to the desktop, then
reposition and center word in the open window. This
worked.

Thank you for your help, also.

Hi Bill:

There's a quicker way: Use Window>Arrange All to arrange the documents so
that you can grab them, then drag them.

Yes, right-clicking the icon in the taskbar will work if you are on a
Windows system, but this is a Macintosh group :)

Cheers
